Knitting Circle & Knitting Consultation
every 4 weeks on Friday
Every four weeks on Friday evening in the Trollenwol store, especially for customers who knit or crochet with yarns from Trollenwol, or with yarns from our friends from Schaapjeswol.
Join us for a cozy evening with your own knitting/crochet project and bring your own food and drinks.
Tea is on the house. You can also join if you have knitting questions, there is always someone who can help you.
Btw: this is not a knitting course ;)

Felting an animal by Hanna Hermans
- Saturday, May 9 (FULL)
In this workshop we will make a wool animal of your choice whith the needle felting technique. Layer by layer you'll shape the animal. First into a basic colour, then you will continue to detail it into a realistic and/or more characterful animal. Nice as a (hanging) ornament, as a gift, or just as a nice (first) exercise in modeling with wool. It can be helpfull to decide beforehand which animal you want to make. And bring a picture or drawing to the workshop. For example, your pet, wish-animal or even a mythical creature!

The sweetest doll you make yourself by Ineke Gray (Petit Amsterdam)

Learn to Knit with Atelier Sarah Jane

Have you always wanted to make that one beautiful knitting project, but don't know where to start? Or do you have a pattern in mind and would like guidance to make it a success?
During this course, your chosen project takes center stage. You choose a pattern yourself (for example, a sweater, cardigan, scarf, hat, or other accessory) that you would like to knit. Together with Sarah Jane, you will select and purchase the yarn from the Trollenwol shop to match, and get going.
This course is ideal for knitters who have mastered the basic stitches (knit and purl) and are ready to tackle their first (or next) pattern with the assurance of guidance.

Costs: €25,- per lesson or book directly for all 5 lessons: €120,- (excluding materials)

Fort embroidery on nature by Esther Vijftigschild

With nature as a source of inspiration, you will learn a number of embroidery stitches, in order to embroider your own flower/branch/leaf on fabric. The hoop, needles and some thread can be taken home, so it doesn't have to be all finished. There will be plenty of examples of different (embroidered) flowers and branches. Experience with embroidery is not necessary.

Knitting a little scarf by Sarah Jane

In the mood to knit a beautiful little scarf?
I have selected three lovely patterns for you; samples are available so you can take a closer look. Together, we will walk through the shop to find the perfect yarn that suits your taste and the chosen pattern. Don't have any materials yet? Knitting needles can be purchased directly in the shop.
During this workshop, you will discover everything about yarn selection, reading patterns, and learning new techniques. It is an inspiring session where we will mainly get hands-on.
Patterns: Sophie Scarf by Petite Knit, Studio Scarf by me, and Smultronställe by Maja Karlsson. The Studio Scarf and Smultronställe are free; the Sophie Scarf pattern can be purchased in the shop. The patterns are in English, the Sophie Scarf is also available in Dutch.

Your first pair of socks - in 4 sessions by Anke Grevers (Gelderse Mutsen)
- Thursday Mornings May 21, May 28, June 11, June 18 (3 spots available!)
In four Thursday mornings you will learn the basics to knit socks from top to toe, in 1 colour with the beautiful Fjære sockyarn. Topics include casting on with a set of double pointed needles, knitting in the round, Dutch heel, casting off the toe and closing the toe with the Kitchener stitch.
Participation in this workshop is only possible if you know how to cast on, and how to knit knit-stitch and purl-stitch.
At home you continue to knit on your sock and maybe you will manage to knit the second one right away, that after three weeks you can wear your first pair of knitted socks!

Time: 10:00 a.m. to 13:00 p.m.
Costs: € 80,- for 4 lessons, to be paid in cash before the start of the first lesson.
Registration for the course: € 10,- this includes coffee/tea.
Reservation of sock yarn: € 15 for the skein of Norwegian Fjære sock yarn.

Registration: For the participants: the skein of Norwegian Fjære sock yarn you reserved will be wound up into a ball and lying ready for you the first lesson. Bring along your own set sock needles (DPNS) of 2.5 mm to the course, or buy them in our store before the start of the course.
Workshop felt crown by Hanna Hermans
- Saturday 6 June
In this workshop we will make a birthday crown based on double-sided felt with a prick-made-felt decoration or animal on the front, or, for example, a figure from your child's favorite book (like the example in the photo). You can also embroider a number or name.
Take the well-known birthday crown to the next level in this workshop and you will enjoy it for years.
Also great as a gift for your (grand) child.
No experience needed, everyone is welcome!

Tatatoek by Margriet Kraan

We make the brave dwarf Tatatoek, using needle felting technique, wrapping and a little bit of sewing. For everyone who loves needlework and dwarfs.
Are you a beginner? You are very welcome, but know that you are fiddling every now and then. I'll provide you a pre-processed frame, all the wool and the pre-felted patches that are needed. There is also a hammer made by Margriet herself available for everyone.

Knitting a Shetland Burra Beret by Anke Grevers
- Friday 18 September, 9 October, 23 October (FULL)
Tracey Doyle from Ooieknits designs beautiful berets. In this workshop we will work with her designs Papil, Fugla and Banna Minn. Ooieknits draws her inspiration from the nature of Shetland. Shetland's colours can be seen in her designs.

In three Friday mornings we will start working with her English-language patterns. You choose one of the three patterns and learn to knit in the round with two colours at the same time (colour work).

Participation is only possible if you have some experience with (round) knitting on sock needles or round knitting needles. We knit with the original Jamieson's Shetland Spindrift, for which these patterns were designed.

Time: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Costs: € 75,- for 3 lessons, payable in cash at the beginning of the first lesson. This does not include the yarn, pattern and reservation fees.
Cost of yarns: depending on pattern choice - 10 to 11 balls of Jamieson's Shetland Spindrift, purchase at the beginning of the first class at the physical Trollenwol store.

Knitting traditional "Grolse" mittens by Anke Grevers (Gelderse Mutsen)
- Saturday mornings October 3, October 10, October 24. (1 spot available!)
In three Saturday mornings you will learn to knit the traditional Grolse mittens, in 2 colours with the beautiful Norwegian Ask yarn. Participation in this workshop is only possible if you can already knit around with sock needles. At home you continue to knit on the mittens and maybe you will succeed in knitting the second one right away so that after three lessons you can wear your first pair of your own knitted mittens. Ready in time for winter!

Time: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Costs: € 75,- for 3 lessons, to be paid in cash at the start of the first lesson. This does not include the yarn and the reservation costs.
Yarn: € 25,- for two skeins of Norwegian Ask.
