Basis No 4 is a thick and oversized cardigan knitted in waffle rib. A lovely wardrobe staple that is easy to reach for again and again, and perfect to wear over most outfits.

This cardigan is knitted back and forth from the bottom up in waffle rib. First, the body is knitted, and then the two front pieces and the back are knitted separately. On the front pieces, stitches are gradually decreased on the yoke to shape the V-neckline. Once the yoke is complete, stitches are picked up along the armholes, and the sleeves are knitted in the round in waffle rib. Finally, a double-knitted ribbed edge is worked along the front pieces and neckline. Buttons are sewn on, and buttonholes are made in the edge.

Your bust circumference: 80 (90) 100 (110) 120 (130) 140 (150) cm.

The circumference of the cardigan: 100 (110) 120 (130) 140 (150) 160 (170) cm.
Full length, from shoulder edge to bottom edge: 50 (52) 54 (56) 58 (60) 62 (64) cm.

Positive ease: This cardigan has a positive ease at approximately 20 cm, depending on your bust circumference. When deciding which size to knit, choose the one which corresponds to your own actual bust circumference.

Yarn usage

NOTE: At Trollenwol, for the below mentioned Mohair you can order "Silky Kid Mohair" or "Mohair by Canard" in our store.

Yarn: The cardigan is knitted with 2 threads held together.
– 1st thread: Troll, 765 heathered beige (or 740 bleached lime), Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk (114 m per 100 g).
– 2nd thread: Silk Mohair,  (212 m per 25 g).
Amount: The following amount is used for each of the 2 threads.
– 1st thread: 650 (700) 750 (800) 850 (900) 950 (1000) g.
– 2nd thread: 100 (100) 125 (125) 125 (125) 150 (150) g.

Alternative yarn: Blåne pelsullgarn (100g = 114m) can be used as an alternative for Troll. The cardigan can also be knitted without Silk Mohair.

Other: 6 (6) 6 (6) 7 (7) 7 (7) buttons, 20 -30 mm in width.
