The balaclava is knitted in stockinette stitch – first back and forth, and then in the round when shaping the decreases at the back of the neck. Stitches are then picked up along the lower edge of the hood to form the ribbed neck edge. Finally, a double rib edge is worked around the face opening, with elastic thread inserted so that the opening fits snugly and neatly against the face.
The balaclava is knitted in Sol lambswool yarn combined with Silk Mohair, or with a single strand of Luna lambswool yarn, Vidde lambswool yarn, or Varde pelt wool yarn.
