Knit your own Ivy Sweater!
Do you dream of a perfectly fitting sweater without the hassle of sewing loose panels together? In four gatherings, we'll  knit the popular Ivy Sweater from Petite Knit.
The Ivy Sweater is a timeless classic with a beautiful and sophisticated construction. During the lessons you will learn step by step how to knit this sweater seamlessly in the round from top to bottom on a circular needle. You will also learn to use an English knitting pattern. In between the lessons you'll continue to knit on your sweater at home.
Coffee, tea and sweets will be provided during this course.

What do you learn in 4 lessons?
• Lesson 1: If you haven't picked out yarns yet, you can choose yarn during the first lesson at the Trollenwol Store with my help. We will knit a sample, discuss size and gauge and cast on the stitches for the neck.
• Lesson 2: We shape the shoulders and start with the characteristic pattern.
• Lesson 3: We split the work for the sleeves and start knitting the body, checking the correct fit by fitting.
• Lesson 4: The sleeves and finish. We pick up the stitches and knit the sleeves in the round. We discuss the details, the elastic edging and the finishing touch for a professional result.

Circular needle set, or interchangeable circular needles. (see also the extra information below)
 

The costs are structured as follows:
Registration/coffee/tea/sweets: €10
Pattern booklet (English) Petite Knit: €7
Tuition fee: €25 per morning (total €100)
Yarn: can be purchased during the first lesson (or come by earlier!) at Trollenwol.

Which yarns do you choose?
We knit with yarns from Trollenwol. Order it online at Trollenwol (note: choose for 'pick up in store' during the payment process) or come to the Driebergen Trollenwol store to choose your yarn. Do this well in advance! We will then make sure that your knitting kit including the pattern is ready for you, and the skein turned into a ball, so that you can start the first lesson right away.
You can choose from all yarns at Trollenwol with a running length of 200 m/100 g.

How much do you need?
Measure yourself around the widest part of your upper body. The sweater is designed with about 12 cm of extra space. In the diagram below you can see approximately how many strands you will need for your size.
75-80 cm = XXS = 4 skeins
80-85 cm = XS = 4 skeins. 
85-90 cm = S = 4 skeins.
90-95 cm = M = 4 skeins.
95-100 cm = L = 5 skeins. 
100-110 cm= XL = 5 skeins.
110-120 cm = 2XL = 5 skeins.
120-130 cm= 3XL = 5 skeins. 
130-140 cm= 4XL = 6 skeins. 
140-150 cm= 5XL= 6 skeins. 
If you want to combine a thinner yarn with mohair you can send me an email, ateliersarahjane@gmail.com or go to the Trollenwol store for advice.
Knitting needles:
Circular needles 5 mm: with cable lengths of 40 cm (for the neck), 60 cm and 80 or 100 cm (for the body)
DPNS/ 5-piece sock needle set: 5 mm and 20 cm long.

Cancellation policy workshops & courses:

• The reservation of the workshop/course is only final after payment in the webshop.
• You can cancel free of charge up to four weeks in advance and you will receive a full refund.
• Up to two weeks in advance, you will receive 50% of the amount back.
• From two weeks before the workshop/course date, the full costs will be charged.
• If you can nominate someone in time to replace you, then that is of course completely fine.
• Sometimes there is someone on the waiting list: please contact the person who provides the workshop or course in time.
• In the unlikely event that the workshop/course cannot take place, you will receive a full refund of the course amount.

Also good to know:

• Are you on a diet or do you have an allergy? Please let us know so that we can take this into account.
• All workshops are intended for adults, unless explicitly stated otherwise.
• Is the course or workshop you want to participate in fully booked? Send an email to the relevant teacher to be placed on the reserve list, or to receive a message as soon as new dates are scheduled.
• In principle, all workshops are given in the Dutch language. Please contact the teacher in question if you do not yet have a sufficient knowledge of the Dutch language. Discuss with him/her whether participating is usefull and/or what the possibilities are. In most cases, occasional translation into English is not a problem for the teacher.
• Participating in a course/workshop at Trollenwol is always at your own risk. Trollenwol and/or the teachers are not and cannot be held liable for any injury or accidents.
