Workshop "Sock Needles Case" by Anna te Voortwis
In one morning, we will make a knitting needle case for sock needles/DPNS (15-20cm).
You will take the pattern and instructions home with you. Coffee and tea with treats will be provided.
Techniques covered:
- Topstitching
- Lining
- Working with bias tape
Materials (bring your own):
- Outer fabric: sturdy (medium weight) denim, corduroy: 35 x 40 cm.
- Inner fabric: thinner fabric such as cotton poplin or thin linen: 70 x 35 cm.
- Sewing thread in a matching color
- Bias tape in a matching color and/or pattern (see Tips): 70 cm.
- Ribbon or lace: 80 cm.
Tips:
- You can also reuse fabric from, for example, jeans, a jacket, or an old shirt.
- Instead of bias tape, you can also cut a slanted strip of fabric 4 cm wide in the desired length (cutting on the bias is important for a neat finish).
