Öland Shawl Yarn Kit
This shawl grew into a knitted painting.
This shawl is knitted in the round with wool from Ullcentrum. Ullcentrum collects the wool from the sheep on Öland
(a special breed, which only occurs on the island). During knitting, the wool still feels somewhat stiff due to the lanoline in the wool.
When the shawl is finished and washed, it becomes soft and falls smoothly and warmly around you.
The dimensions of the shawl are approximately 100 cm height and 250 cm width. The shawl is knitted on needles size 3.5 to 4 mm 40cm, 80cm and 120cm, depending on the hand of the person making it. If you knit loose, use circular knitting needles 3.5 mm, if you knit on average, use knitting needles 3.75 mm and if you knit tight, use knitting needles 4 mm.
This yarn kit contains all the necessary yarn worth €180,- and the pattern in Dutch. If you prefer an English translation, please let us know in the comments when placing your order.
The knitting needles and/or the book can be ordered separately in the webshop. This package consists of many colours. We put together the packages ourselves, but it may happen that certain colours are not available at Ullcentrum.
We then will have to wait making new yarnkits until all colours are complete again.
