Basis No 5

Basis No 5 is a simple, thick, stockinette stitch sweater with wide ribbed edges. A lovely everyday sweater that is chunky and comfortable – and very beginner-friendly.

This sweater is knitted in the round from the top down in stockinette stitch, with raglan increases on the yoke. The sweater has wide ribbed edges throughout, and sleeves that gradually taper towards the cuffs.

Your bust circumference: 80 (90) 100 (110) 120 (130) 140 (150) cm.

The circumference of the sweater: 110 (120) 130 (140) 150 (160) 170 (180) cm.
Full length, measured CF below the neckline and down: 52 (54) 56 (58) 60 (62) 64 (66) cm.

Positive ease: This sweater has a positive ease at approximately 30 cm, depending on your bust circumference. When deciding which size to knit, choose the one which corresponds to your own actual bust circumference.

Yarn usage

NOTE: At Trollenwol, for the below mentioned Mohair you can order "Silky Kid Mohair" or "Mohair by Canard" in our store.

Yarn: The sweater is knitted with 2 threads held together.
– 1st thread: Troll, 719 red (or 745 ice blue), Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk (114 m per 100 g).
– 2nd thread: Silk Mohair, (212 m per 25 g).
Amount: The following amount is used for each of the 2 threads.
– 1st thread: 550 (600) 650 (700) 750 (800) 850 (950) g.
– 2nd thread: 75 (100) 100 (125) 125 (125) 125 (150) g.

Alternative yarn: Blåne pelsullgarn (100g = 114m) can be used as an alternative for Troll. The sweater can also be knittes without Silk Mohair.
