Overview

Sekem cotton is Gots-certified biodynamically grown cotton from Egypt. The softest and most long-staple cotton in the world grows there. Not only is it nice to knit and crochet with this cotton, but the pieces feel wonderful, soft while the thread is strong and supple. The cotton is grown around the Sekem community and is therefore directly traceable to the place and the people who have worked with it. In addition to the organic and biodynamic quality marks, Sekem cotton also has the Demeter quality mark, an extra strict selection within biodynamic agriculture. The cultivation of this cotton not only ensures the greening of the desert, but also a toxic-free and environmentally and people-friendly agriculture. The book Sekem knitting contains all kinds of applications of this special cotton and the story of the origin of Sekem itself.
